Review of 2006
2006 was hardly a quiet year for yFriday. From the various festivals such as Spring Harvest and Easter People that have become a regular events in the yFriday calendar to the release of the Universal album.
Released on the 1st of April Universal was soon seen as one of the best albums that the band has recorded from the Green Day like One Hope to the more mellow songs like Lullaby. Universal also included Everlasting God which is a track that had been co-written with Brenton Brown who is known for his worship leading and powerful song writing.
July saw a performance on the RMusicTV channel where yFriday did a set of three tracks from the Universal album and an interview with the team where we found out that Dez appeared on Biker Grove! They also spoke about the new album, some of the song lyrics and the resent gig at NE1.
Just before the Universal Tour the band took a weekend of and headed over the Disneyland Paris where they spent the weekend doing a gig in the heart of Dinseyland in the famous Disney “Dome”!
October, November and December was one of the busiest times for the band with a new set of t-shirts and hoodies coming in just in time for the Universal Tour. The tour went all across the country from Bath all the way to Belfast and up to Glasgow. Thousands turned out to see yFriday with Titus and LZ7 supporting them.
Now looking into 2007 the band has plans to record the popular song ‘How Can We Dance’ and another big year on the tour front with the band planning to visit Switzerland, Austria and Sweden and many other UK dates.
