yFriday to move to a new direction?

Posted on September 25th, 2008 by James Doc

A recent release by the band on their website suggests that their new album will take the band into new territory. On their site the band states that “…The Universal Broadcast excellently captured everything we’ve been about for the last season in the band - but we are very excited about what is coming next!” The new tracks that have been publicly played at their recent gigs have had a more worshipful feel to them especially with one of the tracks being co-written by worship leader Tim Hughes.

The Prelude tour, which is starting off on the 21st November in St Helens and ending on the 6th December in Hadleigh will be a chance to hear some of the new tracks at all age worship sessions led by the band to see where they are going musically as well as get a feel for the new album.

God is doing something really exciting with the band at the moment taking them into new ground with the new untitled album being released in January 2009.

A recent Facebook update from Dez Minto, yFriday’s drummer has placed him in recording studio, indicating the yFriday are in the studio recording a the new worship album that has been mentioned.  Of course this could just mean that Dez is in Broadwater Studios; his own studio, for other purposes, still exciting though!
